CENTRAL TEXT: HEBREWS 3:13

INTRODUCTION
In our last lesson, we talked about the second warning the writer gave the Hebrew Christians, which was a plea to make sure their hearts don’t get hardened. In today’s lesson, we are looking at an antidote he prescribed for hardening of the heart; the word DAILY.
MAIN LESSON:
A)    ONE DAY AT A TIME
Our walk with the Lord must be taken one day at a time. It is a day by day walk.
·         This will help us to do a proper review of our progress. How did you live for the Lord today?
·         This is because the enemy also comes up with fresh issues everyday (Mt 6:34, Judges 16:16).
B)    THINGS WE MUST DO DAILY
1)      TAKE UP YOUR CROSS DAILY (Luke 9:23): The cross talks about the conflict between our will and His will. Therefore, every day we will find an opportunity to either reject His will or embrace His will. It’s a daily affair. That is why Paul said ‘I die DAILY’ (1 Cor 15:31).
2)      CALL UPON GOD DAILY (Psalm 88:9): We must communicate with our father daily. It’s a daily affair. God came down to fellowship with Adam and Eve daily in the garden. Relationships must be serviced on a daily basis.
3)      GATHER MANNA DAILY (Ex 16:4): Manna stands for God’s spiritual food for His children. In the old testament, the people of Israel had to gather the manna daily. God has a NOW word for us daily. It may come from the scriptures, it may come from the Rhema we receive in our reading of scripture, it may come from an exhortation or word somebody gives us. We must tune our ears to hear daily.
4)       LISTEN FOR HIS VOICE DAILY (Isaiah 50:4, 58:2): Because the Lord has a proceeding word (Mt 4:4) for us daily, we must also make a conscious effort to listen for His voice daily.
5)      SEARCH THE SCRIPTURES DAILY (Acts 17:11): This is the lifestyle of the Berean Christians which was commended. Reading the Bible too is a daily affair.
6)      FELLOWSHIP DAILY WITH OTHER BELIEVERS: Christian life in the early church was a daily affair. They went to Church daily, had exhortation from one another daily, had communion daily (Acts 2:46, Hebrews 3:13)
7)      DAILY BENEFITS (Psalm 68:19): God has scheduled His benefits for us on a daily basis. This even proves that He views relationships as a thing to be serviced daily. He wants us to come daily. Even our bread comes from Him daily (Mt 6:11).
8)      BE A WITNESS FOR CHRIST DAILY: This means every day we must look out for opportunities to share our faith or to represent Christ better to the world (Acts 5:42, 17:17, 19:9).
9)      BE ON FIRE DAILY (Lev 6:12-13): Exercise your spirit man everyday by praying in tongues everyday (Jude vs 20).
CONCLUSION
If we do these things daily, we will always win over the enemy because he too comes daily(Mt 6:34)
Memory Verse
John 9:4: I must work the works of Him who sent me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work (NKJV).
