Relationship Thursday

Genesis 29:25
“And it came to pass, that in the morning, behold, it was Leah: and he said to Laban, What is this you have done unto me? did not I serve with you for Rachel? wherefore then have you misled me?”

The above story is our lesson for today. Jacob had served his uncle Laban for seven years for his younger daughter, Rachel. When it was time for the wedding, Laban gave Leah rather to Jacob. Now, Jacob didn’t see it till the morning because it was dark.
The lesson is do not start any relationship; marriage,  friendship, business partnership, church family in darkness. By darkness here I am not talking about literal darkness. I am talking about spiritual blindness. We don’t see all things but if we commit our relationships to the God who sees all things at the same time, we can be saved from a lot of heartaches. Before you enter into any relationship of destiny, submit it to God. Know no man after the flesh. It is dangerous to casually walk into a relationship that can cost you your destiny. Samson  starting dating one woman and that marked the beginning of his end. His parents warned him but he wouldn’t listen. He was just looking at one side of the whole issue.
We should learn from the attitude of the early church. Before they chose a disciple to replace Judas, they prayed to God.

Acts 1:24
“And they prayed, and said, You, Lord, which know the hearts of all men, show whether of these two you have chosen,”

Before we enter into any relationship, we should bring the people involved to the God who knows the heart of men so that He would guide us.
Don’t enter into any relationship just looking at physical things. Let God guide you. Don’t enter into a relationship ‘at night’.
