Today I want to present to you yet another truth you must embrace and understand before you marry. Yes. Marriage is a school, but you never complete this school till you die. In other words, marriage is for a lifetime. That is the more reason why you must take your time.

It is unfortunate that these days some young people enter into marriage thinking that if it doesn’t go well for them they will opt out. Listen, young man or young woman, you are focusing on the wrong examples. You are focusing on the exceptions rather than the rule.
God’s idea of marriage is for it to last your whole lifetime. It is a school you never complete till you die.

In this school of marriage you move from level to level like you do in any school. Real love is developed in marriage. This is because marriage has various seasons it goes through. Any love that has not gone through seasons is not matured love. It is just an emotional fantasy.

This school of marriage is also full of tests, quizzes, external examinations just like normal school. You need to brace yourself for all these. Instead of playing around during days of courtship, you need to invest prayer, reading, and learning into your future marriage. Build yourself as a Christian. Cultivate Christian character. Make sure your roots have gone deep in the Word of God.

If you do that, you will pass all the tests in the school of marriage and you will enjoy the school. Some people learn on the job but that comes with a price. Don’t wait till you suffer marital crisis before you learn humility. Prepare now by growing as a christian. That is always a solid foundation for the marriage relationship.

Let it sink deep within you that marriage is a school you never graduate from till you die. You are not ready for marriage till this truth dawns on you.
